My maternity session
Posted on August 19, 2008

I have been so busy trying to wrap up everything with client’s orders that I have neglected my own portraits. Last night I was thinking that I am getting so close to Sarah arriving and if I don’t edit the pictures from my pregnancy ends, I am likely never edit them once Sarah arrives. So, I took a little time this morning to edit these and share them with you. I love being pregnant. I appreciate the blessing it is to feel her inside squirming around. I am now at that point in my pregnancy where people give me the half smile… you know… “you must be close” smile. And, yes, I am close. I talk to her every day and tell her how excited we are to meet her soon. How her big brother is going to love her so much and how we will love her with everything we have within us. My sweet baby girl will be here before I know it!
PS. Cory took most of these! Give him a shout out and tell him what you think! He is doing more and more photography and I LOVE his style!
Newborn!

Tonight we drove out of town to see a very special baby! I just wanted to see the baby but of course we had to take a few pictures while we were there. WELL, this little guy did NOT like having his picture taken. He was not interested in any of my tricks to get him to sleepy-ville. No, he was wide awake or a fussy little guy! We did get some cute portraits from the session but he sure did make me work for it. As we were leaving, he was SOUND ASLEEP! Figures! I bet if I got my camera back out… he would have started screaming again! There are many more from this session but I wanted to get two of my favorites up to show mom that we did actually get something!

What should I wear?

I get the “what should I wear?” question a lot and honestly, I always say the same thing. No busy prints around the face, no logos and I love color. I have a lot of families that wear khakis/jeans and white and I love the classic feel. But I LOVE color. This family did not ask me what to wear but I was so excited when we started the session. Everyone is coordinated but all are wearing beautiful COLORS! I love the way these turned out! This was a big session with grandparents, aunts, and kiddos. We had a great time and there was lots of laughing. I can still smile when I think of the session!
There will be a few more shared from this session in a few days. We took A LOT of portraits. That is what you get when you have an extended family session. I try to capture every combination if time allows.
