Welcome to His Hands Photographs! We're a husband and wife photography team who specialize in weddings and family portraits. I'm Samantha Ferguson and my husband is Cory. We have a son and daughter, Elijah and Sarah, who are the reasons we started photography. We love pictures and we love to see things a little differently. 2009, Man what a year! – Birmingham Alabama Portrait Photographer

A year ago we were in a very different place. At the end of 2008, Cory had just left his job a month before to join me full time and we were excited, scared, and nervous and about a million other things. Now I am writing this a year later…it has been the most amazing year and I am so grateful. I can honestly say I have worked more this year that I have in my entire life. It is a constant struggle to get our life balanced but I am so humbled to serve the families that we serve. There are times where I have to sit and think about what we are doing… my family pictures are so precious to me. Our engagement portraits from 10 years ago are still displayed in our home. My sons first portrait session (I took it!) makes my heart melt. The portraits where I am pregnant with my daugher make me realize how fast life is going and she should still be a newborn. Then I think about how we are are giving that to other families and it seems unreal. I think I should pinch myself.

The other day I realized that as much as I love photography, that photography is not the reason why I love our business so much. I love our business because I get the opportunity to make people happy. I love to hear the excitment when someone sees thier portrait session images for the first time. I feel like I am nervous as they are wondering are they going to love the art I made of their family??? I know that I cherish our family portraits and I know that others are doing the same with the work that we do. It keeps me humble to know that so many families trust us with thier family. That you trust me to capture where your family is right now and I take that very seriously.

This is a slideshow of my favorite pictures from portraits sessions in 2009. I decided I would do the wedding slideshow separately this year because there were SO many portrait sessions. I narrowed it down to 300 pictures but there are more that I want to include. I think I could do an entire slideshow on eyelashes or hands… lol. So, sit back, turn on the volume to hear the song I purchased just for this year, and see our year in review. You will see babies, families, couples, and a bunch of dancers.
