Cute Sisters – Birmingham Child Portrait Photographer

Posted on January 31, 2011

These are two of my favorite kiddos in the whole world. :) I love it that my job allows me to document how much they have grown. We met at the greenhouse for a session on a cold day last week. You would never know that it was FREEZING outside. The girls were full of laughs and made my job easy…. as always. :) )

52 Week Project Week 4 – Birmingham Alabama Photographer

Posted on January 30, 2011

Week 4…. I made it a month. Gold star…. right? :)

It was another quiet week around the Ferguson house. We are spending the slow season redoing our house, throwing out and selling things we don’t need. My hope is to simplify our house and I am enjoying seeing so much progress. Now, onto my pictures….

I started my week with a Girl’s Night Out. Originally we were supposed to attend a cooking class but when the class was canceled we decided to go to Superior Grill for a margarita and yummy food!

I was too in a hurry to take a picture of it before I drank it!

I met a new friend. She likes margaritas too. : )

And all of us….

My dad came back to visit after being with my aunt a few days. I realized I didn’t have many pictures of S with my dad. I made sure to take a few of just them. Sarah loves to be read to and my dad loves to read to her. Good times.

Every week I take 2 hours or so to make our grocery list. I am a couponer. : ) I typically save $75 – $150 a week from our grocery bill. It is worth it for our family. One of the reasons I started couponing was so I could reduce our food budget so Cory could continue to stay at home and work with me. Elijah loves to go with me and see everything that we save! A couple of years ago I taught classes on couponing, I love to teach people! I don’t have the time now so I would love to refer you to the ever talented Tara. She is better at it than I am! I asked her to share a few words and this is what she shared with me:

My name is Tara Whitaker and I am the owner of Southern Savings and Deals, based out of Northport, Alabama. Southern Savings and Deals is a small company that teaches coupon classes to men and women of all ages. I have been teaching coupon classes since Jan. of 2010 and have taught over 100 classes all over the state of Alabama since then. I started couponing about 5 years ago and since then my family has saved thousands of dollars. Last year alone, we saved over $7000 and about 75% off of our grocery bill! It really is amazing how much money you can save just by clipping and using weekly coupons.

If you are interested in hosting a coupon class at your church, office or house, I would love to come to teach you the biggest couponing secrets! Classes last 2 hours and during the class we cover the following topics: Couponing Tips, Where to Get Coupons, Store Policies, Coupon Organization, Grocery Budget Tips, and much more!! I will also have a question and answer time during the class as well. Classes are $10 per person (located in Tuscaloosa) and this includes a packet of couponing information that we will go over during the class as well as door prizes. For class prices out of Tuscaloosa county, please email me at tlc1982@aol.com or southernsavings@aol.com. Classes are available Sunday – Saturday, however times may vary by day.

If you would like additional information about the classes or about Southern Savings and Deals please feel free to contact me at one of the above email addresses or check out the website at www.southernsavingsanddeals.blogspot.com. I am looking forward to hearing from you soon!

My coupon book and my coupons for this week….

The last day before my dad left I snapped a few pictures of the kids with him. They love Grandpa!

And Miss S insisted I take pictures of her in her pretty dress…

I am making a point to visit with more of our friends in 2011 (more on that later). We had our very good friends over for dinner. Right before they arrived, our candelier burst into flames. I am not kidding. Everything is ok now but that meant we had no light in our dinning room. We ate my candlelight… what a memory! I snapped a quick picture of one of my favorite families!  Love them!! Elijah wanted to be in the picture… really not sure why he is closing his eye… silly boy!!

And today… what a fabulous day!! It felt like spring in January! Between sessions, we took the kids outside for bike riding, sidewalk chalk, and racing. It was the perfect end to a great week. I wish the weather could stay like this forever! Thank for allowing me to share a little bit of our life… until next week!

Little Brother Turns 2 – Birmingham Child Portrait Photographer

Posted on January 27, 2011

Here are my sweet neighbors again! : ) I am blessed to be able to photograph them twice a year (at each of their birthdays!) Little brother turned two last week and I can’t imagine where the time has gone. I have taken his pictures in mom’s belly, newborn, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months, 1 year, 18 months and now 2 years. I love seeing how much he has changed. Both boys are so sweet! This time big brother was just supposed to be a few pictures but every time I would turn around he was giving me the sweetest smile or look and I couldn’t resist. LOVE them all!!

When we set up the session I suggested they bring some Auburn gear. I think they are the biggest Auburn fans I know. I can’t think of a better time to show some tiger spirit. :)
