52 Week Project Week 7

This picture describes the highlight of our week. A play date at the zoo with some of my kids best friends. I don’t know what I did to get them to pose so cute and look so natural… They did this all on their own! This is going in all of their bedrooms! We met other friends at the zoo and when I asked the group to give everyone a hug… this is what I got:

They were more interested in the new construction at the zoo than the animals:

But eventually we made time for animals and the park:

Tried a new coloring in the slide pictures. I like it!

 

And we finished our trip with a snack: fruit treats and goldfish.

Miss S dresses up like this every day at some point. This morning she started early and was still in PJs. She doesn’t look very happy…

Daddy and E watching E’s favorite show of the week: Shark Week on the Wii for Netflix. E now says he wants to be a rescue helicopter pilot because they stay out of the water. Smart boy!

And since the weather has been so nice, we spent an afternoon letting E dig in the dirt. This boy loves dirt and will play for hours making a  construction site.

Very grateful for a beautiful week!

Fairytale Sessions – Birmingham Alabama Child Portrait Photographer

I love fairy tales… the romance, the drama, the happy ending. And my kids love fairy tales too! In December when our family visited THE castle in Orlando our kids naturally gravitated towards it and all of the princesses. What is there not to love about that?!?  Well, all of the crowds along with the massive lines to meet our favorite princesses.  And, don’t get me started with how I didn’t have the time to get the right angle for great portraits of my babies with the princesses.

That is where our idea of Fairytale Sessions came from!  And after a few weeks of planning I am proudly ready to announce all the details! Here is YOUR chance to give your princess or prince charming a REAL fairytale experience! During our fairytale, your prince or princess will visit a REAL castle (one much closer than Florida!!) and meet a REAL princess for a mini-portrait session where we will dance, laugh, and spend uninterupted time.  Each princess or prince will also receive a small special gift, and will end the experience with a tour of the castle itself! And all of this WITHOUT the lines and crowds!! Sounds amazing, right? Don’t think this session is just for princesses…. NO WAY!! For this special occasion only, we will also be bringing out a full set of authentic knight armor just for your prince. This is the REAL deal! I am offering VERY limited sessions and I expect them to go fast so you don’t want to wait!

Here are the details:

When: April 10th, 2011

Time: Late Afternoon near sunset

Where: “The Castle” located south of Columbiana (Check out their Facebook page HERE)

Who: Up to three princesses or princes

How Much: Two Options

1. $100 Session Fee- 10 min Portrait Session with our Princess, a special gift for each princess and/or prince, a tour of the castle, 8 – 12 images to choose from AND 1 8×10 and 1 5×7 of your choice.

2. $200 Session Fee-  10 min Portrait Session with our Princess, a special gift for each princess and/or prince, a tour of the castle, 8 – 12 images to choose from AND a disk of all the images with printing rights.

Sounds simple…. right?!? In the end, you are the hero in the eyes of your babies AND you will have portraits to remember the experience!! How do you book??? Email me NOW sam@hishandsphotographs.com to secure one of the limited sessions. You don’t want to wait because these are going to go FAST!! Payment must be made within 7 days of booking the session and can be paid by credit or debit card via paypal, or by mailing a check. All payments are non-refundable, but I will consider them transferable on a case by case basis. In the event of rain, we will reschedule for another Sunday TBA if needed.

Here are a few of the portraits from yesterday! My kids were so excited to visit the castle and our other models were in love with both the princess and the castle!! My son asked me this morning when we could see the princess again. He is in LOVE!!!

It’s all about LOVE contest WINNERS!!! – Birmingham Alabama Photographer

Happy Valentine’s Day!!! I have to share that we had the hardest time picking winners in the All about Love contest! We have WAY more entries than I expected. I read over every entry and was touched with how many people took the time to share their love story with me. It wasn’t easy to pick a winner and I decided to pick three… so enough talking and on with the winners!!

Winner #1 – Curtis Calfee – who loves his wife of 38 years. I have to say his entry was my favorite. He took the time to tell me how much his wife means to him and to his family. My favorite part of his love story was when he said about his wife, “One of her greatest qualities is that she is a giver.  She will give even when it means great discomfort or loss for her.  She always places her own needs way down the line for others.” What an amazing woman!! I can’t wait to see you guys again!

Winner #2 – Meg Bruck-Krawitz – who loves her husband (she calls him her best friend) and her children. She shared with me that since she was adopted privately, her children are her only biological family. I loved hearing her perspective on love for her incredible family!!

Winner #3 – Morgan Butler – who loves her mom! I would love to share more of their story but I feel like it is too personal. But, her mom’s story was a story of her constantly putting her own needs to the side so she could care for her children. Morgan wanted to give something back to her mom after years of her mom sacrificing for her. I love it!!

Congrats to the winners! I considered cloning myself so I could give everyone a session but we all know cloning isn’t possible! THANK you to everyone who entered…. thank you for taking the time to share with me. Winners please email me this week to claim your prize!
