Perfect Day at American Village- Birmingham Alabama Wedding Photographer
Posted on March 8, 2011
You never know about the weather in February in Alabama. And when you plan a wedding in February, you decide that whatever happens, happens but then the most beautiful day comes and it happens to be your wedding day. We were blessed with beyond perfect weather for this wedding. The weather wasn’t the only thing perfect about the day… so many great details, madly in love couple, friends, etc etc. I couldn’t resist sharing some of my favorite pictures from the day… there are more than normal. I had a hard time choosing!
Details… everything was thought out and put together just right!

I am in love with the getting ready pictures. The bride naturally looks so beautiful and makes being a bride look easy!

The bride was surrounded with so many people who love her dearly.

No words for this one….

The groom and all of his guys! I have to admit I was a little nervous when I heard there would be 8 groomsmen and most of them fraternity brothers! But these guys were all about having fun but didn’t give me too hard of a time! They were so much fun to work with. I LOOOOOOVE the groom’s room shot that Cory took. I love all the guys joking around in the background!

The best part of the day was the ceremony… the harp played in the background, the bell ringers announced the bride and it echoed through the chapel, the ceremony was personal….

We took a little time for portraits after the ceremony while the guests enjoyed cocktail hour…

The reception had amazing food from Tazikis… YUMMY!! The guest celebrated with the couple and you couldn’t get the smile off the bride and groom all afternoon!!

All sorority girls will know about this… I had never heard of this until we started photographing weddings. The sorority sisters surround the bride and sing to her. It is such a sweet moment! Isn’t the bride glowing seeing all of her friends? And the groom had a few requests for his fraternity brothers. Love it!!

I have to hand it to Cory…. his shot of the couple going away is one of my top 10 favorite wedding pictures EVER! Don’t be shy… leave me some blog love… see the comment box below… yes, that’s it… tell me what you think.

A sailor and a nurse fell in love – Birmingham Alabama Engagement Photographer
Posted on March 7, 2011

This couple has the most amazing love story!! The bride is a nurse and was taking care of the groom’s grandfather when they met. The story starts with the bride to be YELLING at the groom to be because he was breaking the rules with have a baby visitor in his grandfather’s room. hehehe! I love it!! Fast forward a little while and the nurse fell in love with the sailor. When the couple mentioned that wanted to put a new spin on the “Kiss Goodbye to War” picture, you can image I was so excited!! I can’t wait for the wedding next month!!

52 Week Project Week 8 – A week late… Birmingham Alabama Family Photographer
Posted on March 5, 2011
I actually took this pictures on time and I THOUGHT I had blogged them and when I went to blog week 9 pictures I saw that week 8 never made it!! So here is week 8…
did you know we have a cat? We actually have three but this one is our favorite. This is Moses. We call him “dogcat”. He is the only cat that let”s the kids play with him. The whole neighborhood knows him. He is such a sweetheart!!

We had our friend over for dinner and his beautiful fiancée!! K is actually Elijah’s Sensei at his Martial Arts class. We have known him since he was a teenager and now he is all grown and SOOOO gifted in teaching kids. We are so blessed to have him as Elijah’s teacher. Dinner was fabulous getting to know him and his lovely fiancee. Lettuce Wraps and dumplings were had by all…. yummy!

More crafts this week…. Elijah tried out painting stained glass and I was brave and let Sarah color with markers again.

We had a make up dinner with our friends too. We were supposed to have dinner the week before but life got in the way. The kids were loud and had a blast! We couldn’t have asked for a better night out!

My girl LOVES her high heel slippers. She wears them all day long. All day I hear….clunk….clunk…clunk of her slippers. She is such a girly girl. Up until last week she only had one pair until I found a bag of slippers at an consignment shop. She is one happy girl!! Notice she has moved all of our shoes out of our “shoe place” and replaced them with all of her slippers. Love this girl!

I had a lunch with one of my best friends. The lighting was horrible but the company was great. Poor baby E didn’t want to be the picture.

To end our week, it was a beautiful day so we decided to let the kids run around The Birmingham Botanical Gardens. This is probably the most requested location in town for portrait sessions. I don’t usually visit with just my kids. We had a blast, running around…. exploring!! What a gem we have in our city!
