Surprise, Surprise – 52 Week Project Birmingham Alabama Photographer

Posted on April 27, 2011

I looked at our website today and was surprised with how long it has been since I blogged. Busy season is here!! We are working working over here but also taking the time to enjoy the small things in life. My kids seem to be growing at warp speed and I feel the need to slow down and not be caught up in business. I want to remember our life as lots of little moments with lots of fabulous people (especially my sweet family!). I am so blessed, my heart is so full, and I don’t want to miss a minute. I am STILL taking pictures for the 52 week project. My personal editing is put on the back burner most of the time until it makes me sad thinking of me not sharing those pictures. I started this business to spend more time with my family and my family deserves a legacy of images to document our life. So tonight, I took a little time for MY pictures. It was good for my soul. So. Grateful.

We took an overnight trip on St Patrick’s Day to Rock City. We were blessed to go with one of our favorite families. Our kids ran and ran and ran all through the caves, rocks, etc etc! It was an awesome day and a perfect place to explore with kids!

And we ended our day with chocolate covered marshmallows, with sprinkles of course!

We spent the next morning checking out downtown Chattanooga. They have the best pedestrian bridge and you can’t go wrong with exploring the Chattanooga Choo Choo!

My sweet girl was exhausted!

At the end of the week I asked my sweet girl if I could take a picture of her in her Cinderella dress at sunset. She said… oh yes, mommy, yes, I need a picture like that.

Elijah wasn’t as excited…

Ok, thanks for allowing me to share with you a little of my world! Now I am off to work more!

Fairytale Sneak Peek – Birmingham Alabama Child Photographer

Posted on April 12, 2011

I have a secret…. I was really worried about the fairytale sessions yesterday. Why? You never know how kids are going to react when they see a princess and since the sessions were mini sessions, I was worried that some kids might need a little warm up time. I had NOTHING to worry about!! I have to admit too that I have WAY more fun than I ever expected to have with 2 hours of mini sessions!! The sessions were more like experiences. The kids had a beautiful princess just for them. She sang songs, danced, whispered secrets, and took time with each child. The expressions I saw yesterday were priceless. REAL EXPRESSION! If there is a way to bottle up the imagination and innocence of this age this it it!

Our first prince and princess were totally in the dark about the castle or the princess. It was the sister’s birthday this week and this was part of her birthday gift. Our princess was inside until the arrived so I had them both turn around until I brought out a surprise. When they turned around, this was their face:

Our princess led the kids in a song and shared a few secrets. Big sister told her mom later that night that Mrs. Samantha brought a princess all the way from Disney World just for her birthday! I love it! I think brother has a little crush. Is he blushing?

Our next brother and sister were ready to see the princess! Little sister is having a princess birthday this week so the timing was just perfect as an extra special birthday treat. It took big brother a second to warm up but then he almost knocked over our princess in a bear hug! So awesome!!

Our next princess came alone with her daddy. Her two little brothers couldn’t make it at the last minute so this was an extra special treat. A long trip with daddy, and the princess all to herself. As you can see… she was mesmerized.

And then two of my favorite princesses… big sister was jumping up and down so much we had to remind her of the pictures. She was quick to give us the sweetest smile with our princess. Little sister giggled the sweetest little giggle.

Next is our contest winner!! Mom wrote me telling me that Dad goes to the conference every year at Disney World but the family hasn’t been able to join him. She wanted her girls to go meet a princess while they are at the age they still believe. Three very precious girls!! Big sisters were willing to help with baby sister and they had the sweetest manners!!

Next my assistant brought her princess along that also have a princess birthday party coming up!! I love love love the look on her face looking up at our princess!!  Little brother wasn’t so sure about our princess but we still got a few pictures that makes me smile. He is such a little man!!

And our last session of the day was a family I was so happy to see again. I did baby brother’s newborn and 6 month pictures and it was so awesome to see how much he and his brother had grown! The gave our princess a high five and then we had a little mini session at the castle. Of course… we had to end with a picture with the knight is shining armor!

And there are MANY MANY more… I said we would have 8 – 10 pictures for each session but I couldn’t help myself! There will be more!! The Castle really took care of us too! Queen Misty had cookies and lemonade and gave tours of her home. She even let the kids feed the fish! If you have an event or a wedding and are looking for an awesome unique place then the Castle is where you should be!!! And our princess is available for parties also. She has a few different princesses that you can choose from too. She totally made the day!!! Contact me for contact information!!
