Beach!!! – Orange Beach Alabama Portrait Photographer
Posted on June 22, 2011
I know I have said it a million times but I love the beach. There is something about the white sands of Alabama that brings me straight back to childhood. I love that I can capture family vacation memories forever. I don’t have many pictures from our beach vacation so it is extra special to me to know I am giving these families memories that will instantly come back as soon as they see the portraits I take. It just blesses my heart more than I can say!!
My first family of the week is at the beach to celebrate! Dad’s first Father’s day, baby girl’s first vacation, and mom and dad’s wedding anniversary… all in one trip! Mom is super smart and wanted pictures to forever remember the trip. Will baby girl remember this trip? No, but mom and dad will have these portraits to tell her how much she loved the sand and how perfect she makes mom and dad’s vacation life!

My session tonight was with the sweetest family. I meet with families all the time and some families you just can SEE how much they love each other. Real love. The jokes flowed freely, the hugs were sincere, the conversation was real! This beautiful girl was promised hair braids if she made it through portraits (she was PERFECT by the way!). We were trying to get good smiles out of her and having her say “Hairbraids” gave us the best smile.
She totally worked for them!! Isn’t she beautiful? She is just a natural with the camera!!!

And one more session on the beach tomorrow…. SO very excited about a family with three girls!! Do you want a beach session? Send me an email and let me know when you will be here!
52 Week Project – Week 13 Sick Kids!
Posted on June 14, 2011
I am on a roll and decided to edit our family pictures up until April so I am only two months behind! From out last week, you saw we went to the zoo. Well, apparently, we took home a present from the zoo. The entire family caught a stomach virus a couple days later. I hate when my kids are sick. It was a pitiful couple of days around here.

And then we all had cabin fever once we felt better and we had to find a playground to get some fresh air and run around time!

The wisteria was blooming everywhere and I had to get a few of the kids with the beautiful colors in the background.

52 Week Project – The Zoo and YardWork

I keep telling myself there is no guilt in publishing this project later than I took the pictures so I am officially in March. See if you are my friend and we go on a playdate, during busy season, it may take me three months to edit out pictures…lol. No guilt, no guilt. Right?
We met our good friends for a zoo trip and happened to be the “soft” opening of the Trails of Africa exhibit. We saw the elephants for the first time! It was great! It is a wonderful addition to our zoo. I took a lot of pictures. I was the annoying mom that had my camera all day. I was in the mood and for the most part, the kids didn’t mind.

And exciting news in the Ferguson house. Cory’s dream came true with a new riding lawn mower. I feel like we have arrived in suburban land. We spent a lot of time in yard this week with the beautiful weather. I don’t want to forget times like this. It is what means the most to me. My kids are growing at warp speed. I am very blessed.
