Business info and a sneak peek!
Posted on July 31, 2011
First let me get the boring business stuff out of the way…. We are leaving for beach portrait sessions and will be gone until the 9th. We will have limited internet access (imagine me hiding in the tiny internet cafe trying to quickly answer emails and get back to Cory and the children…ha!). Answering emails will be a little slower than normal! And now onto the fun stuff….
I was so flattered and excited when I heard from this family. Mom is my children’s pediatrician and I respect her so much. My kids love her and she is the most amazing doctor. I was happy to meet her sweet family. She told me it had been a while since they had portraits made but with kiddos going into braces, she wanted a casual family portrait before the orthodontist takes over.
Just as I expected, her kids were so sweet and down to earth. I asked one of her twins what they like to do for fun and she said, “I plan to take gymnastics, piano, tennis….” her list just kept going too! She has a plan! It was wonderful to meet the entire family! My kids rushed me when I arrived home because they wanted to see their doctor’s family!

Alabama and Auburn Campus Mini Sessions!
Posted on July 28, 2011
It is that time of year… I am hearing that football season is about to start. There are status updates daily with a count down of the first game. I will be the first one to admit…. I don’t understand the football obsession in the south, but I respect it. I do know that the games on Saturday aren’t just about football. It is tradition, friends, family, food, fun… and a weekly escape. Any time I post something on my facebook page or website that includes an Alabama or Auburn football mention…. you guys go wild.
There has been lots of excitement when I mentioned the possibilities of campus session so I expect these will book fast!! I have both dates scheduled for away game weekends and on Sunday. Birthday Winner!
Posted on July 16, 2011
I really loved everyone’s birthday memories! Cory and I both enjoyed reading through the comments. Some of you gave me good ideas… some of you made my heart smile.
Contests are so fun! I will have another for my kiddos birthdays in August! So for everyone that didn’t win this time keep checking back for the next contest!
It was SO hard to choose so we put all the names in a hat and I am so excited to share the winner!!
Jessica Stevens!!!
Here is her birthday memory:
My best birthday memory was in 2003, the summer I turned 18. I am blessed to have an extremely close family so my grandparents have always been like a 2nd set of parents to me. On July 17 my granddaddy had a massive heart attack and underwent immediate open heart surgery. Post surgery we were all told that only half of his heart was working and that his heart was too weak to sustain any bodily motion. He was in ICU as you can imagine and we had to take turns going in to see him. He was completely nonresponsive even as they attempted to reduce the meds. On my birthday, July 19, I walked into the ICU to see him. I bent down to speak to him saying, ” Pop its cooka. Today is my birthday and I would love for you to wake up.” Just then Pop responded to me. His eyes twitched and his lips moved. No one witnessed this but me and of course everyone thought it was just my imagination becaase of what we all had been told. The very next day we came to see him and he was sitting up wiping his nose!!! We were told his heart probably couldn’t handle any movement. We hit our knees in thanksgiving. What a wonderful birthday miracle!! Pop responded to his cooka and Pop became a living miracle.
As a side note…Pop was put on hospice which lasted 3 years…well Pop is still here!! ”Still kicking” as he says…with half of his heart working. Every July 19 (my bday) we have a” happy glad you are still here Pop” party. What a wonderful way to spend my birthday each year. This year will be 8 years since Pop beat the doctor’s odds and became a walking miracle. God is amazing isn’t He?
Jessica just had a sweet baby girl. I am sure she will take advantage of the free session fee and 11×14!! Here are a few pictures from her sweet girl’s newborn session! Congrats!
