Birthday Contest!

I said I would offer another contest for my babies birthday this week. They are almost exactly two years apart. My Sarah turned 3 on Saturday and Elijah will turn 5 (a WHOLE hand) on Thursday. There is all kinds of excitement around here and I want to share the joy! This time I am going to keep is simple and EASY!!

What am I giving away? A week day portrait session that expires on December 31, 2011. (This includes Child, Family, Engagement, or Senior session. This does NOT include Maternity, Newborn, Bridal, or After session.) Valued at $100 and includes a $25 print credit. Who wouldn’t want to win $100 towards portraits???

What do you have to do to win? Leave a comment on our blog telling me WHY you want to win AND tell me your favorite birthday gift EVER.  Blog comments only, no facebook comments will count. : )

It is THAT simple. Really easy… really fast and I will announce a winner on Friday before midnight!

Here are the rules:

1. Prize has no cash value and is nontransferable.

2. Session must take place before December 31, 2011 and is for a week day session only. If session is not taken by December 31, 2011, prize is forfeited.

3. Only one comment per person. Don’t cheat. I can figure it out and it may cause you to be disqualified.

4. Winner must contact me via email sam@hishandsphotographs.com and via phone 205-862-3374 within 10 days to claim prize.

Now I will share a few of my girl on her birthday. I am sad to admit I almost had to force myself to taking pictures on her birthday. I am behind on editing my families pictures (think April is the last month I edited ). Sad, I know. But, of course, I knew I would regret it if I didn’t take some to help her remember her big 3 year old day! I took her “official” I am a 3 yo picture on the front step in her tutu swimsuit. This is SO her. Notice her sparkle shoes that the toes are worn out on and notice they are on the wrong feet?? She loves those shoes with everything inside her! This is her third pair! We spent the day with friends swimming and grilling out. I had a quick afternoon session then we headed to the toy store where I let her pick out one toy of her choice. She picked Cinderella’s carriage and horses. Girl loves a princess!! Praise God for my precious girl.

Sarah, you are so wanted. So important. You are such a light and joy to us. You keep us laughing and warm our heart with your silly little laugh. We named you Sarah meaning “God’s princess” and I can’t think of a better name. You are such a princess. We are so grateful to have 3 of the most amazing years with you. We love you Sarah!

P.S. And the one where Sarah is mad….. I have no idea why she was mad. haha! She gives me this look a lot. God Bless her!

2 year old sweetheart at the beach! – Gulf Coast Portrait Photographer

I first met this family with little man when he was six months old. I have to admit my heart skipped a beat when I saw him today. He is so grown. How did that happen? He has the sweetest little man haircut! I am so blessed to be connected to this family is a small way that I get to watch him grow up in my lens. It makes my heart smile big! I was so excited to hear we would be at the beach at the same time!

I am so in love with this light… sunset on the gulf. Summer will be gone before we know it (I know it is hard to think about that when it is so hot!). We will be all stuck in our house wondering if it will snow or if the roads will ice over.We will be begging for summer. I want to remember the sunset on the gulf. Perfect. God is an amazing creator.
