Thankful Contest Winners!
Posted on November 27, 2011
Our Thankful Contest has come to an end! I have to share that we were so touched by how thoughtful and amazing the entries are that we decided to give away an extra session! THANK YOU for taking the time to share your heart with us! The overall theme was that we are all thankful for our friends and family above anything else. I have to agree that is what matters most!
Now onto the winners!!
1. Laura Clevenger! I met her family when they finalized the adoption of her youngest son! I was touched by her entry because she took the time to explain each family member and friend and what they mean to her! Here are some of my favorites from her entry:
” I am thankful for my husband who does whatever it takes to take care of our family. He is an AMAZING provider for my family. I am thankful that when I married him I was blessed to acquire an automatic family. I have always considered my step-daughter like my own and I love her very much! I am thankful for my oldest son. He is an incredible child. I am thankful that he loves his little brothers the way he does and for working toward BIG goals and dreams. I thank God for the gift He gave me when HE gave me him! I am thankful for my middle son. I love seeing his love for life. He definitely has one of the biggest personalities EVER! I love the fact that he’s not scared to pray in front of anybody and always has the sweetest prayers. I am thankful for my youngest son. I love how God’s plans are PERFECT and he matches! God completed our family with him! I am thankful for my other 200 children that I teach daily. I am grateful that, if only for a short while, I can be their school momma! ”
So perfect!
2. Kim Moore! I have to share some of her entry. It is such an amazing story!
“april 22nd 2005, i rec’d the news every woman fears…you have breast cancer. my family reacts to things differently, we laugh, joke and ask “what is the next step” we don’t fall to pieces, God is in control. i remember that after laughing with the kids, my only prayer was ‘Lord, please let me see my grandchild’. neither of my kids were married. my son, was in law school and wasn’t dating yet, and my daughter didn’t know if she would even have children. fast forward to Sept 1st 2007, my son is married and he and his wife are expecting. My world changed when my sweet Caroline was born. I thought i knew love, but this was so much more, pure joy! my soft spoken prayer was answered and i was cancer free! This little girl was a gift from God, sent to me at the time i needed her most! I am thankful for healing, for grace and mercy, and for this amazing little girl that brings a grandma so much joy!”
It doesn’t get better than that!
3. Mandy Wilkins! Another amazing story! Here is some of her email!
“I am THANKFUL and blessed for my quickly expanding family! 14 years ago I delivered my son. Due to complications, we were told we would never have anymore biological children. May of 2010 we began the process to adopt three siblings from foster care. Due to all kinds of red tape and bio-parental issues the adoption has yet to be finalized. Then July of this year we learn that at the ages of 43 and 46, we are going to be parents yet again… naturally. Our 5th child (2nd biological) is due in February of 2012. The Lord Blessed us beyond measure when we answered his call!”
I am getting all teary eyed!
Congrats to the winners!! We will host another contest next month! Winners please send me an email by the end of December to find out what to do next!!
I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving. We did here! Our house was full of friends and family. Cory and I said several times, it was the best Thanksgiving ever. We are so blessed and grateful to God.
Yes, I know our blog is a sad and lonely place… I have been busy busy busy with the fall rush. Things are moving faster than ever before with our client galleries! That is exciting but the blog for sure suffers! I promise to share some of the amazing families and couples I have met this fall on the blog in December. : )

I love this time of year. The trees are alive with colors, the air is crisp. Even a normal wooded path becomes picturesque with the bright yellows, reds, and oranges. I feel like I am living at warp speed and my family is moving and growing so fast, how is it already November?? I want to slow down a little more this fall and appreciate where God has me right now. It seems like yesterday it was my 5 year old’s first fall and now I am teaching him about fall for his kindergarten home school. I am so thankful and grateful for my life as it is right now and I bet you feel the same way. Would we change a few things if we could? Sure, but I want to be in the habit of being content and so grateful to be standing right where I am.
It has been a while since we have had a contest so I wanted to share some love AND hear why you are thankful for where God has you right now.

And a quick picture of something I am thankful for…. I am blessed with a couple of really great friends. Some I have known longer than others but still great friends. My friends are like family to me. This picture makes me so happy and grateful for my friendship with one of my best friends. Here we are at the pumpkin patch. I am blessed to say I have held each of these children within weeks of their birth (most sooner). I have seen them grow and become the most amazing kids. They are all the best of friends just because their moms are friends. I am so very grateful for her friendship.
I could go on and on about what she means to me.

I will share more this month about what I am thankful for and share more stories from you! Now go and enter… now!
