Here are the winners from our relationship contest. The two families have been friends FOREVER…. the two dads went to elementary school together and the moms told me that the kids have all been friends since they were born. They acted like family too! Everyone was cutting up and having a great time. We changed our location at the LAST minute. I pulled up at our meeting place and said “Are you up for something different?” I saw this spot on the way to our session and I HAD to use it. Awesome location, more awesome family!

Very Soon! – Birmingham, Alabama Engagement and Wedding Photographer

I can’t even begin to tell you how special it is for me to shoot this engagement session. Cory and I have known the bride for a few years but lost touch in the last year or so. I heard she was dating a great guy and THEN I heard they were engaged. It is strange at times being a wedding photographer when your friends get married. We wonder… do they want us for their photography? We are totally fine if a friend chooses another photographer, I mean, there is SO much talent in the Birmingham area alone and there are so many weddings. It might be nice to just attend a wedding, but I am afraid I would be twitching without my camera…. but I digress….

When the bride called and said she wanted to meet…. it absolutely made my day! And when it was decided that we were the right fit; you just can’t wipe the smile off my face when I think about it. This couple was engaged just a few weeks ago and is getting married on December 12, 2009…. yep, you read it right…. just a few weeks away! It was so great to meet the groom and his daughters. We started with a traditional engagement session and then ended with his daughters coming in for a family session. I really love the results. But, what I love most is how happy my friend is when he is around. Doesn’t she just glow??? This is another reason why I so love my job!!

Awesome colors, Awesome Family – Birmingham Alabama Portrait Photographer

I can’t even describe how beautiful the fall colors are now! Bright yellows, deep browns…. just stunning! We started out at Samford (where mom and dad were married!) and ended at one of my favorite creek spots for take advantage of the tree colors. The kids were so good for me and had the greatest manners. It is hard to pick a favorite but if I had to it would be the one where big sister has her hand on little brother’s face. Perfect! Life doesn’t get much better than that!! And check out little brother picking his nose… cracks me up because that is ALL boy! Love it!

Part of my heart – Birmingham Portrait Photographer

Filed under Birmingham, His Hands Photographs, Samantha Ferguson, brothers, children, family, portrait, portraits, repeat • Written by hishands @ 10:32 pm

These two are such a big part of my heart. They are my nephews. I can’t even tell you what awesome boys they are. They are funny, silly, smart, crazy, amazing, young men. It is such a joy for me to be a part of their life. These pictures are a little different for me. They seem too old… it doesn’t seem possible that my oldest nephew is in middle school. It doesn’t seem possible that the baby… well, isn’t a baby. But, they are so handsome. What I love most about these boys is how much they love their cousins (my kids!). They take little Elijah along wherever they go and love to make the funniest faces at Sarah. Elijah lights up anytime you mention his cousins. This is what life is all about. Thanks for letting me share part of my family…
