Our New Year’s Eve – Birmingham Alabama Wedding Photography

I really thought things were going to slow down in December since we didn’t have any weddings booked and the cold was setting in. Little did I know that we would book THREE weddings in December in 4 weeks!! Praise God, seriously! We will spending our New Year’s Eve with this fabulous couple at the Tutwiler Hotel and I can’t think of a better way to end the year. This couple has been planning a wedding from out of state so when they were both in town, we scheduled the engagement session downtown. Of course, it was COLD so we did some family shots in the Tutwiler then bundled up for some couple shots outside. Love it, love it…. LOVE it!

Thanks guys for a good afternoon hanging out, braving the cold… I hear there are flurries in the forecast for Thursday. : ) That would be great!

P.S. Don’t you love the little one in the hat? Great choice, mom.

Christmas Colors – Birmingham Family and Child Portrait Photography

I am loving all the red and Christmas colors lately. You know these boys… my sweet neighbors! It is hard to believe how much the baby has grown. These are the 9 month portraits and of course, we had to make it a family session and get a few shots for the Christmas card! Big brother is smart, smart, smart… ask him about the presidents on Mt. Rushmore and at 3 years old… he can tell you! I am so in love with the eyelash picture of the baby. You can count every single lash… and check out the brotherly love in the pictures of them together.

P.S. Another couple married at Samford (10 years ago!) so we had to go back for a family session!

The year in review…sort of…

I started compiling a year in review for a slideshow to share with everyone a month ago. A month later and I still haven’t added all the families and brides from the year! What an amazing year it has been! I look at all these families and I can’t help but tear up thinking of all the wonderful people I have met this year. If I missed you in the slideshow please forgive me! If I keep working on this slideshow, I will never get it up on the blog.

Every single picture on here means something to me and that is why I want to share it with you. I am once again humbled that this is our job and we are a part of all of the lives here even if for a short time. Thank you for allowing us to live our dream…..I can’t even imagine what exciting things 2009 will bring. I trust that God has big plans and I just let Him drive. And now….. sit back and press play!

PS. We also updated all of our galleries on both the portrait and wedding website. There are so many pictures on the site that I never blogged! Stay tuned for some exciting news to be released this week!!

We decided to go green this year and do an electronic card! (Not really… I ran out of time and thought I would be clever!) These are from our 8th anniversary trip in Helen, Ga, our home, and our fun ginger bread house. Merry Christmas and a Happy New year! We look forward to what the new year brings!

Twins… a year later!

This set of twins came to me last year for Christmas portraits so I was super excited to see them again this year. This is a big year for mom because they are five years old (a WHOLE hand…lol). Mom said there was just something hard about being 5, it sounds so big! We met at a new location and had a blast. Brother came up during the session and gave me a hug, I really love my job. It was so good to see how much they have grown in a year. Mom was telling me how smart they are and some of the conversations they have now. Mom said they were talking about the brain and sister said, “Mom, it isn’t a brain it is your cranium”. Um, yeah…. out smarted by a five year old. Life is good!

Sweet Sisters

This set of sisters were so special to me! The youngest is only a few days younger than my son and such a cutie. She was working the camera. What a change from my little boy! Her older sister had the best vocabulary! She was so cute when she said, “We should grab these leaves and toss them all about”. I have to agree, what fun! Don’t you love those curls? We will never have curls with our children so I love it when I see a head full of beautiful curls!
