(On a side note…. things are a little hairy around here! 4 weddings in 4 weeks, more portrait sessions that I want to count AND we were out of town for a 8 days! I feel like Dori in Finding Nemo…. Just keep swimming, just keep swimming. This by far is our busiest fall ever and we are LOVIN it! We have so many exciting projects in the works the last few weeks and I hope to give them some blog coverage but emails and editing come first! I think I will blog all winter when it is cold and we are a little slower. Will it be strange to see people in summer clothes on the blog during winter?!?)
Now on with the fun stuff….
We all know how dancers have a special place in my heart. But this dancer is extra special. When I first started I asked for volunteers to model some ideas I had and she was the first dance to sign up. Now over two years ago she is back for her senior portraits! I was so excited when she contacted me for her session. She is so beautiful, of course, but her spirit is beautiful too. I was very excited to photograph her without her dance gear on too! I learned something about her at the session too… when she puts on her pointe shoes you can see her confidence come alive. She holds her head a little higher and you can just tell, when she is dancing… she is everything she wants to be in life. She wants to pursue dancing after high school and I can’t wait to see where she goes! Incredible talent and I am honored to capture her in print who she is now.
And it rained during this session too (what is it about senior sessions and the rain?!?) but she was totally game to jump and dance in the rain. I have the best clients in the WORLD! The fan is from her Mom’s senior portraits. I love it when we use something that is special to the family.

When the Alabama Youth Ballet Guild contacted me about helping with a fundraising project I was SO EXCITED. I have a special place in my heart for ballerinas but I love Grebel Dance even more! The studio is just incredible! They produce amazing talent but most of all they teach correct technique. This is so important so that the beautiful girls (and talented guy) will not be injured! Add to that how much fun this group has and you have the perfect recipe for a dance studio. I will post the details on how to purchase the calendar from the guild, I know so many will want to have an awesome calendar and support the Youth Ballet.
Do you know someone who need a dance studio? Go check them out….
There are SO many that I am in love with… it was hard to decide what to share on the blog. More on Facebook…
