Welcome to His Hands Photographs!We're a husband and wife photography team who specialize in weddings and family portraits. I'm Samantha Ferguson and my husband is Cory. We have a son and daughter, Elijah and Sarah, who are the reasons we started photography. We love pictures and we love to see things a little differently. We didn't grow up wanting to be photographers but both fully beleive this is what God made us to do. Please take a little time to read through the blog and get to know us! Week Two! Celebrating 5 years!!

Week two of our celebration! Thank you to all who entered last week! I appreciate your time in enter and I hope you will join us again this week!
For our second week we are giving away a mini session with a disk of your images!! What do you have to do to win? Just tell me WHY you want His Hands Photographs to photograph your family. It is that easy!
Rules:
1. Only 1 entry per person and only blog comments count as an entry. NO FACEBOOK COMMENTS ALLOWED.
2. Session prize is for a session fee (30 min session) and a disk of images (up to 25 images).
3. Session must be scheduled and taken by October 1, 2012. No expections.
4. Session includes your choice of family, child, high school senior, engagement, maternity, or bridal session. It does not include beach, extended family, or newborn session.
5. Session must take place in surrounding area of Birmingham or Hoover.
6. Prize is nontransferable.

Week One Winners!!! – 5 year Contest

We have the BEST time seeing all the entries! What a wonderful way to celebrate 5 years! Tomorrow we will release our next contest for the week. PLEASE enter each contest!! And because I can not share a blog post without pictures, I will share a beautiful newborn session with you. Cory and I met this couple almost 10 years ago when we would attend a Bible study in their home every week. We lost touch over the years but we were so very excited to hear they were expecting after 18 years of being married. I spent the afternoon with this sweet boy where he slept perfectly for me. Isn’t he an angel?? I love my job!!

Fergusons Go to Washinton DC!

Over the coming weeks, I want to share our trip to Washington, DC. We were blessed to visit our good friends in Virginia and they allowed us to crash their house and see all of the sights of the area! My friend married her prince charming and moved away and we just HAD to make sure he was good enough for her! ha! So we drove two days to Gainesville, VA for a week with friends and fun! We considered this the ultimate homeschooling field trip!!
Our first day we drove in the rain through Atlanta to Charlotte, NC. We saw 4 states in in 1 day! The Ferguson’s love a road trip and we are always excited on our way there! We stopped at The Varsity for hot dogs! What’ll ya have? What’ll ya have????
At the end of our day I let the kids jump on the bed for a few minutes. First time ever and they were loving it… apparently the people downstairs were not and security asked us to stop. OOPPPPS! So sorry to the people downstairs. 
I had no idea it was that loud. First day of our trip and I almost get us kicked out. Mom of the year.
Day 2 of the trip!! We were so ready to be there! I honestly didn’t want to take pictures but Cory told me that he drives and I should at least take a couple of pictures! The road was beautiful!! One of the best roadtrip advice I have every received with kids… stop at fast food places with a playland. We ate lunch while the kids ran around the Chikfila playland. Then we bought kids meals that they ate in the car when we were back on the road. We had a peaceful lunch, they ran energy out!! Happy parents, happy babies!! At the end of our trip we were greeted by our sweet friends and we all headed out to have Maryland Blue Crabs! YUM YUM YUM!! Perfect ending to a great day! More to come!

It has been over 2 years since we were fortunate enough to have you do the kids pictures and they are the best we have ever had. We did a mini session and then the next year we did the castle fairytale pics. Have those in the hallway and everytime my daughter walks past and look at photos she smiles and said she remembers that day. Love making memories for our family.
Because I LOVE all the photos you took of Jessica and Chase and their family – both wedding and non-wedding!! Now I’d love to get photos of my younger son and his family!! They live in FL but come to AL frequently.
I want to win to have pictures of my hubby and I taken together. Our last professional picture taken of us together (alone) was on our wedding day….almost 14 yrs. ago!
I am about to have our second baby (due date this weekend) and would REALLY love to have a set of family pics done with the newest addition!! My husband is away in Federal Law Enforcement Academy and will be there until the end of June..During his time away he will have missed my birthday, mothers day, our 5th wedding anniversary, fathers day, and the birth of his second child…. his only daughter… so to have family pics done will be such a gift for us to make up for this time he has been gone!!
Also, your pics are absolutely amazing…. but then, we wouldn’t be trying to win this if they weren’t… so that kinda goes without saying… right?
I know it’s ironic that I would want to win a session, seeing as I’m also a photographer, but as I’m sure you both know, taking pictures of yourself is no easy task. My high school graduation is coming up in December of this year (I’m graduating early, thus the mid-year graduation), so I need senior pictures. If I could take them myself, I would love to, because then I could get exactly what I want. That’s why I like your photos so much. Your photos ARE everything I want, and then some. To be quite honest, even if I don’t win, I would more then likely book you guys for my senior pictures for that very reason. Keep up the AMAZING work!
We would love to have you photograph our family of 3 again before it becomes a family of 4. I would also love to have a few shots of Wallace loving on his mommys belly showing his new sibling love before he/she arrives! We always enjoy our sessions with you and are always amazed at how well you capture our family!
There are two reasons we would love a session… (1) You did such an outstanding job with our engagement and wedding photos, and we still go back through them with such fond memories. (2) We are longing for a good family photo since our first born is a little miracle, born premature at 26 weeks (only 1 pound 15 ounces) and now is at 18 months with no problems and into everything. Julia has been longing to get professional photos done of our family but we haven’t been able to do that yet since she is on bed-rest with our second pregnancy which began to get complicated at 20 weeks as well. But by July, Lord willing, we will have two little fellows and would love to have some high-quality family pictures of our growing family
your work is amazing. I always hide behind the camera because I didn’t like to see myself in pictures. I know how important it is to have pictures with your children. I have recently lost a good bit of weight and am feeling more self-confident than I have in years. I said when I hit my goal, I wanted to do some new pictures for us. Well, you’ve done our portraits twice now in the fall and I would like to have spring pics! Jessie has a wonderful man in her life, Mattt Hayward. He’s a “keeper” – talk of marriage AND he’s going to be a DOCTOR! They have two cute dogs who would HAVE to be in the pics. We could use a little “good” to happen – it’s been a “bad” couple of months for us but we are working our way through it with God’s help!

Week one didn’t work out so well for me so here I am again back for week 2! Would love to have this mini session for my husband and I. I love looking at the pictures you take, because its real people and everyone looks happy and beautiful. (Even the men who typically hate having pictures done)
Oooh, I’d love to win this! Why? Because you both are so talented, but also because I shied away from photographs when I was heavier. I really regret that. They didn’t see me as imperfect or as someone who needed to lose weight. They just loved me as their mother. Children grow so fast and these photographs serve to remind us how tiny, and perfect, and precious they are. And with photos like these they know how perfect we are for each. Imperfections and all.

My husband and I have never had professional portraits done-we’re coming up on our third anniversary and we have a PRECIOUS new baby girl who just flourishes in front of the camera! Hoping I have the lucky entry!!!!
I would love to win a mini-session with the CD because you all took amazing photos of our wedding and I am starting an exercise plan so I would love to have pictures of my family once I have lost weight. However, as much as I want to win the session, Julia Mayhew’s comment brought tears to my eyes so I think she should win. Her husband serves our country and he has missed so much while he has been gone that pictures of him with his family would be something they would never forget.
My first child will be 6 months in September. I would love to have pictures of him and us shot outside!

I want to win because life with a toddler and a newborn moves too fast to truly appreciate what a blessing our little family really is. I am apart of the senior class of 2012-2013. I set sail on a photography adventure about two years ago. (Walk By Faith Photography) I am so used to being behind the lens that I have trouble adapting to being in front of the lens. I need senior portraits done this summer and I wouldn’t want to book a session with anyone other than His Hands Photographs! You guys are AMAZING at capturing beauty and personality in every shot that will last a lifetime! You are so inspiring to a kid like me that would like to continue on my journey as a photographer. I would love to win a mini session for my family/for my brother who is a senior this year. My parents had wanted to get senior portraits done of him but when it has come down to it money and time has had to be used elsewhere instead. I have an Elijah also. He is turning 2. He was injured during birth and we have been through a lot. He is an amazing little guy and has overcome so much. I would love to have take pictures for us. I heard about His Hands from a friend who won a sitting. You have sinced photographed her beautiful family a few times. My husband and myself have been married for 9 1/2 years and together for 15 years and have a 6yo old little boy and an 18 month old little boy.
