I hate these “about me” pages because I never know what to say and I feel like I am talking about myself more than I would prefer! So who am I? I consider my camera an extension to my hand. I have always been an artistic person and my camera feels like my paint brush. It is incredible to know that my artwork documents so many families’ and couples’ homes.
I started my photography career a little by accident. When my son was born I knew the type of portraits I wanted of him so I purchased a camera and poor kid was my live-in model. With the first “session” I took of him, everyone wanted to know who took them. When I shared that it was me, requests for sessions came fast! I already had a background in graphic arts so I dived into learning everything I could about the art and science of photography. By the time my son turned a year old, I was able to leave my full time job and pursue the business. It was a scary decision being a small business owner but it was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I love the excitement of a wedding day, I love the adventure of children and capturing just the right look, I love hearing about the dreams of a high school senior, and I love being a part of this crazy ride we call life with so many people.
Want to know some random facts??? I suffer from a bad case of “wanderlust” and I like get out to town at least every two months or so for a road trip or to travel to a new place….. I love to explore the world and learn about other cultures. I have won a chili cook off three years in a row and I can cook just about anything. Cooking is therapy for me. Fall is my favorite time of year. I love museums and history and my favorite thing to watch on TV is a biography. I rarely read anything but non-fiction, I am book nerd at heart. I love cookie butter from Trader Joes and cheese but not at the same time. I enjoy seeing people really laughing, life is too short to be too serious. I am crazy about Jesus and grateful that He never gives up on me. He has been faithful to me in so many ways and I would love to share more of my story with you!
